Shape Clay
Get your hands dirty. Our studio workshops are small, unhurried, and taught by people who genuinely love this craft.
Intimate by design,
hands-on by nature
We keep our sessions small — never more than six — so you get real time with the instructor, real feedback, and real progress. No conveyor belts. No rushed endings.
Choose your workshop
Sessions run every weekend at our Phoenix studio. All materials, clay, and glazing are included. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
Beginner Wheel Throwing
Your first time on the wheel. We'll cover centring, opening, and pulling up the walls — the fundamentals that everything else builds on.
Handbuilding Essentials
Pinch pots, coiling, and slab construction — no wheel required. A slower, more meditative approach to shaping clay.
Glaze & Surface Decoration
Dipping, brushing, wax resist, and layering. We'll explore how glaze reacts in the kiln and how to predict (or embrace) the unpredictable.
Date Night at the Wheel
A couples session with wine, music, and clay. No pottery experience needed — just a sense of humour about the mess.
Advanced Form & Trimming
For those with wheel experience. We focus on consistency, trimming feet, and refining the form after drying — the details that separate good work from great work.
Private Studio Session
The whole studio, just for you (and up to five friends). Perfect for birthdays, team events, or anyone who wants undivided instructor attention.
What to expect
We start with tea, an introduction to the studio, and a quick tour of the tools. No pressure — the clay can wait five minutes.
Your instructor walks you through each step, demonstrating first and then guiding your hands directly. There's no such thing as a bad question here.
Once the basics click, you get uninterrupted time to experiment. Your instructor stays close, but the wheel (and the clay) are yours.
Pick from our range of studio glazes. We fire your piece and have it ready for collection within two weeks — or we can ship it to you.
